Situated on Scotland's renowned Golf Coast, Longniddry Golf Club is a well-established course offering an exceptional experience for members and visitors alike. As electric vehicle ownership continues to grow, the club recognised the importance of providing convenient on-site charging while continuing to invest in its facilities.
To ensure the project was delivered efficiently and cost-effectively, Longniddry Golf Club partnered with Connekt to design, fund, and install a future-ready EV charging solution.
The club wanted to introduce EV charging but needed confidence that the project would be both technically and financially viable.
Key priorities included:
The club also wanted an experienced partner that could manage the process from initial consultation through to completion.
We engaged with Mike and Connekt to look at the proposition of installing charging units in our car park. Having been satisfied this was going to be able to work, we went ahead with a full survey of the site to confirm what Mike had advised . Their engineer was on site in the a few days after I met Mike to then feedback in detail on what would be required and when this would be carried out. The install was scheduled over a couple of days, one for groundworks, and another for install of the units. This was carried out quickly and efficiently at times stated and we agreed at a switch on to ensure this did not impact the day to day working when switching the power off to allow the final connection to take place. This has been a seamless process with little or no impact on the club and done quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend Connekt for anyone looking at installing EV charging units.

Connekt worked closely with the team at Longniddry Golf Club to assess the site's requirements and develop a tailored charging solution.
The installation included:
Following the initial consultation, Connekt carried out a comprehensive site survey to confirm the recommended solution and identify the most efficient installation approach.
The team then managed all funding paperwork on behalf of the club, securing grant funding that made the project commercially viable.
The installation was carefully scheduled over two phases:
Power isolation was coordinated in advance to ensure the final connection works had minimal impact on the day-to-day running of the club, allowing operations to continue as normal throughout the project.
The project was delivered exactly as planned, with little disruption to members or staff.
Key outcomes included:
Longniddry Golf Club now offers convenient destination charging, giving members and visitors the opportunity to recharge their vehicles while enjoying a round of golf or spending time at the clubhouse.

By partnering with Connekt, Longniddry Golf Club was able to introduce EV charging through a carefully managed process that removed the complexity from the project.
From initial consultation and technical surveys through to grant funding, installation, and commissioning, Connekt provided a complete end-to-end service. The result is a reliable, future-ready charging solution that enhances the club's facilities while supporting the growing number of members and visitors travelling by electric vehicle.
